I grew up an athlete. I knew flow state — the pool, the court, that place where everything quiets and you’re just completely in it. Nothing prepared me for the first time I knelt down and looked into my kids’ eyes and felt it there.
The first things survival mode takes are the quiet ones. Your creativity. Your stillness. The conversation with God you didn’t even know you’d been having your whole life.
I grew up an athlete. I knew flow state — the pool, the court, that place where everything quiets and you’re just completely in it. Nothing prepared me for the first time I knelt down and looked into my kids’ eyes and felt it there.
That was flow state in its purest form. The greatest thing I ever had the privilege to do
I’m a mystical Christian. I’ve also done journey work. Both kept pointing me to the same place: the divine was never gone. I just couldn’t feel it through the noise of surviving.
Meditation brought me back. Understanding my nervous system brought me back. Realizing that my kids feel my nervous system more than they hear my voice — that brought me all the way back.
The Healing Home Method is the road I wish I’d had in the hardest years. Five rooms. One regulated center. The flow state that was always yours, waiting on the other side of the survival.
His name is Mark. A fireman. He’s fought for our country. And most of all he’s the calmest, safest presence I’ve ever known.
I didn’t find him until I did the work.
